I am an IT tutor with over ten years experience working with people of all abilities and at various stages of their learning, from beginners at home to experienced employees in small businesses. I have particular interest in developing databases and also run courses on digital photography.
I am an Accredited Digital Champion and a tutor-assessor for the Digital Unite Academy.

What I teach:
- Users the self-confidence to develop the skills they want.
- All Microsoft Office applications to ECDL Core level – SVQ level 3 – which include word-processing (Word) , spreadsheets (Excel), presentations (PowerPoint), databases (Access), Internet and e-mail (various programs). I also have experience of teaching OpenOffice.org packages.
- The more advanced features offered in any Microsoft Office or OpenOffice.org application to suit the needs of small businesses and voluntary organisations.
- Maintaining and developing databases in small businesses and voluntary organisations.
- Various photo-editing programs such as Photoshop Elements, Picasa, Windows Photo Gallery.
- Screen reading and speech recognition software and other assistive technologies.
About me:
I enjoy teaching on a one-to-one basis because I can give one-hundred-percent attention to the learner/client and the topic in hand. I also have experience of teaching small groups in various locations such as at work and in libraries.
I have worked for many years with people with disabilities teaching them use their computers with assistive technologies such as screen reading and speech recognition software, or developing their skills using keyboard shortcuts and the accessibility features in Windows.
I am a Branded Learning Centre with LearnDirect Scotland
under the name Digital Unite Edinburgh.
I am also a Registered Learning Provider with ILA Scotland.
