I am a qualified self-employed Human Resources Consultant, Trainer and Coach.  I am passionate about working with people to enable them to achieve their dreams and aspirations. I use my industry knowledge to assist people in interview preparation, PowerPoint presentations, compiling their CVs and applying for work on-line, equipping people with the skills and knowledge to apply for work, to improve their choices of work and life chances.  I also work in community education teaching amongst other things, IT at a range of levels.

I am a warm, friendly, patient man and have worked in education and training for many years. The Internet offers the elderly the wonderful gift of continuing lively contact with family and friends. I mostly use iPad computers. The iPad is so simple to use that even the most technophobic can learn. I understand that people need to go at their own pace and not be rushed. I offer small groups and one to one sessions.

Helping people learn new IT skills has been the focus of my career for many years. I work part-time as an ICT school teacher and have taught primary, college and retirement-aged students. Having worked extensively in community education as well as one-to-one, I really enjoy teaching adults who are taking up computing later in life.

Using computers successfully is a blend of knowledge and confidence, as well as a very effective way of saving both time and money. Learning how to use them safely and quickly should be fun as well as informative. I have been designing and delivering IT and computer based training for over a decade to people of all ages and skill levels. I firmly believe that there are no bad learners, just bad tutors, so if you don’t understand something the first time I will go over it again until you do.

I have been a computer professional for as long as Bill Gates, the creator of Microsoft. Prior to that I had a very enjoyable career working in the catering industry. I have cooked in many prestigious restaurants throughout Europe and, as far as I know, despite his other achievements, I am still a far better chef than he is!

During my lengthy computing career, which has included numerous technical, managerial and consultancy roles, I have introduced new computer skills and systems to novices, improvers and experts alike. Since 2003 I have been focused on working with home users and very small businesses.

I firmly believe that computers can be for everyone; all you need is access to a basic computer (desktop or laptop) with an internet connection and, with an open mind and good guidance; there need be no end as to where your imagination can take you.
