Helping Older People Unleash their Digital Talents!

About Tutors

Who are the Tutors?

Digital Unite Tutors are self employed professionals who specialise in teaching beginners to use computers and the Internet. They can also help people who wish to learn more, often to advanced level in things such as website design or photo editing.

All Tutors are experienced computer users and teachers or trainers. Many have formal teaching qualifications. We select Tutors carefully to ensure that they are empathetic to older people and to anyone who is nervous about using a computer.

How do the lessons work?

  • Our tutors come to you (or your friend, or your mum…) and work on your computer in your home. If you want help for a business they will work at your premises.
  • They teach at a range of levels- from absolute beginners to more advanced learners.  Many have specialist skills in website design, photo editing or databases and business applications.
  • Each training programme is designed to suit you – and can deal with specific problems or broad areas you want to improve.
  • As well as teaching new skills, our tutors can also advise on buying kit and recommend local suppliers. They may also troubleshoot problems with equipment or connections, (or be able to recommend someone who can help).

How much does it cost?

  • As a private individual, expect to pay around £25 an hour – depending on any travel costs. The Tutor will always agree a price in advance.
  • Business rates should be set with each individual tutor.
  • There may be discounts available for booking several sessions.
